Chairman Attends Wedding Withoot His Troosers
It could help to explain some of his recent absense from the touchline; Club Chairman Stuart Craddock was snapped on a recent Saturday afternoon minus his trousers at a traditional Scottish wedding ceremony in . . . . . . . um . . . . . . Leicester.
Even stranger, Leeds supporter Stuart was attired in the tartan of Motherwell FC! Asked if there was anything worn under his kilt the chairman is reported to have replied "och no it's all in perfectly good working order"

UNDER 8s CUP
Six teams battled it out for this year's Stanley under 8's cup, including two from Dursley. Stanley Blues and Dursley Town A topped the group and took part in a thrilling final. Hudd was on goalscoring form as Bliss and Josh helped keep Dursley out at the other end. Stanley edged a game to remember with a nap-hand of goals to Dursley's four; well done Stanley. Special thanks to all players who have been involved in coaching over the past two months as well as the parent coaches, players and referrees. Thanks also to Ken for organising, Todge for Trophies and Dursley for making the trip over.

A Day at the Races - click here for photos
The first Leonard Stanley FC day out to the races proved to be a huge success and enjoyable time for those who attended. 13 in all went and would like to thank all of them for behaving and making everyone welcome. The day got underway in usual fashion with UZ, Gardy and Price being 40 minutes late to catch the bus so eventually met at dudbridge at 6:20 am to depart. By 6:35 Price already helped himself to a bottle of red and proceeded to down the bottle on the way. By 7 am all males were drinking apart from Merrett and Roberts (snr). A short pit stop shortly before arrival and the BOOZE bus made its way through customs into the 'HILL' where Stanley set up camp, with the bar being set up and Rachel kindly doing the cooking everything was install for a fine day as the sun burst through the clouds.
Everyone helped themselves to the beer as a £20 drink as much beer as you can approach was decided. Many hours past with the funfair being a good distraction. When the racing did finally begin it saw Knapman out of pocket on the first race and Hudd and Hill gain a healthy profit. As the races went on, I think everyone made a loss in some way and when the queens horse did not run tO form in the derby, Knapman knew it was not his day! All in all a very good day out for everyone, so good Uz, Gardy, Price decided to stay on with two mystery ladies where they thought they would get a lift home in the morning, if only they lived in KENT, then this may have worked. UZ, Price and Gardy were last seen Sunday 4pm necking sambuccas at Paddington train station. Their location now is a mystery.
On a brighter note, Hill and Hudd made it back on the bus this time which makes a change. Lastly a thank you must got to Ken for setting up the BOOZE BUS and driving there, and Rodger Merrett for driving back.
Great day had by all, see you next year Queeny!!! - A.Robert
Cricket outing report
HUDD & HILL both reported missing! An excellent day out was enjoyed by those who are usually up for social events, excluding Joe HP who was on an easter egg hunt family gathering!
Roberts drove the bus to pick up everyone and awake those who had hangovers from the night before. Roberts senior 'bottled it' and late nagging and a few early ones in the Lord John Hill and Hudd were included in the trip that involved driver Bown and Bailley.
On arrival to the county ground Uz, Hill and Hudd signalled there intentions and already buggered off to the pub! So everyone mastered the entrance techniques and Beer continued to flow. Uz, Hill and Hudd finally turned up but only 6 overs of Glamorgans innings Hudd and Hill had disappeared.
Gloucestershire had a great start and this encouraged some excessive drinking. Eventually Glamorgan made a target of 192, a reachable target for the new Gloucestershire team.
Gloucester got off to the worse of starts losing opener Cockbain early on but Gidman and Marshall steadied the ship with a stand of over 150, Gloucester kept us nervy with a batting callapse LSFC would be proud of!!! Still no sign of Hudd and Hill and Glos won by 4 wickets and we made way to the exit. Everyone including the yound Bailley very much indulged, Panton and Roberts tried desperately to get hold of Hudd and Hill but no sign and the bus left without them. Panton has since been questioned at Stroud police station for urinating on Roberts garden and Hudd and Hill remained missing and last seen near St. Pauls in Bristol.

Highest Ever Status for Reserves
With promotion to Division 4, our reserve team have never before in the history of the Club tasted such dizzy heights. Its a great achievement from Des and his team. Until as recently as 1986 our first team were only one league above in division 3. Lets hope for another great season next year and perhaps we can continue to close the gap between our Saturday teams.
Stanley Youngsters Awarded FA Coaching Badge
| On the 22nd of March, LSFC youngsters Jordan Measures and Vinnie Rees completed FA Level 1 coaching and were subsequently awarded their Badges. This is fantastic news for them and the club with both already preparing to take on the challenging task of the Level 2 coaching award. With regards to the club - which recently achieved F.A. status as an Adult Charter Standard Club - it means that there are two more qualified coaches to lead sessions and bring even more innovative ideas to the already high quality training sessions. These two young players are keen to fulfil their full potential and are a credit to the club! |

| L.S.F.C.'s Quest to the Home of Cricket!
After a stunning cricketing performance at Bushley in summer L.S.F.C. have qualified for the National Village Knock Out! This is the cricket equivalent of the F.A. cup and is a display of how multi talented our boys really are. The Tournament is a huge competition with all the big sides in Gloucestershire (and the rest of the country) entering. Frocester CC managed to progress to the final which is played at Lords a few years ago and our lads are looking to emulate this. The first round draw given us quite a competitive tie away at Painswick on SUNDAY 1st MAY. The provisional side for the game is as follows:
1) B. Brinkworth
2) T. Pass
3) A. Roberts
4) A. Penrith
5) J. Hill-Pemberton (C)
6) K. Roberts (WK)
7) M. Davis
8) C. Earle
9) N. Parker
10) J. Versaci
11) M. Hudd
All fans are welcome to come for a picnic and support the lads!!!
Player's Meeting December 7 County League: It was decided at a player's meeting on December 7 that later this month the Club would apply for County League status for next season. Ken Roberts is to take care of the necessary application documentation. New Training Floodlights: The Club have erected much improved floodlighting at Stanley Park. The lights - acquired some time ago - have finally been lifted into place for use on training evenings. Some say the glow is visable from as far away as Frocester when in use.
Bown in line for Coaching Award As reported in the Citizen Newspaper on Mon Sept. 20, Wayne Bown has been nominated for Gloucestershire Media sports award 'Coach of the Year', sponsored by NHS Gloucestershire. Wayne led LSFC to a championship and promotion winning season last year and has taken us to the highest level in out 76 year history (not 55 years incidentally as reported). He was nominated by goalkeeper Andy 'Todge' Roberts for his massive commitment to the Club giving up hours of his time voluntarily every week, along with his work at youth level with Kings Stanley. We all wish Wayne the best of luck and are sure he would be a very deserving winner of the award.

RIP Stewart Williams
The Club has been saddened by news of the passing of our former manager Stewart Williams. Stewart (32) died on 18th August after a courageous fight against cancer.
During his time managing LSFCs first team the Club enjoyed the double success of winning division 1 of the Stroud League and the Stroud Charity Cup. Stewart will always be remembered for his enthusiasm for football whilst facing his own personal battle. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
